KIM STRIKES AT VENETIAN

Thursday night 7:07. Starting to pack, looking for casino affinity cards. Have about $800 in cash to start. Sara is going to friends house for the week.

Friday morning. I said all along that if I were John Edwards, I would want to be third off the dueling leaders.

Weather kind of murky but I think we will make it out. Sara took $100 of my gambling money. Plane leaves at 12:20 pm.

We get on plane when pilot announced there is bad news. Speaking in the most technical jargon possible, he announced that the plane is "broken."

"We thought we could bet it out there, but we decided not to try," he announced. I guess it was 50-50 if we would make it alive, they decided to flip a coin.

The transition on Soutwest to "new equipment," actually goes pretty smoothly. They announce that we are taking the plane that was supposed to go to Providence, and the Providence passengers will get delayed. Too bad for them!

The flight takes forever, the headwinds from the winter storm are over 100 miles per hour. We aren't getting anywhere. It takes several hours just to clear Indiana.

I arrive in time to enter a poker tournament at the Venetian, but I bust out. The skies are clear and the air cold but not biting.

It's Tuesday morning. Its already morning in New York, but here the sun is just now coming up. Had pathetic dream last night that all my friends from Lynchburg had gotten together for party but nobody mentioned it to me . I stomped over to Schewel to demand an explanation. Was Nurmi there I wanted to know? At Casars Poker Room one of the floor men is Kevin Nurmi.

Monnday I won $729 in the daily poker tournament at the Venetian. I finished sixth out of 148 but ran out of chips at the final table and was blinded out.
