KIM'S PROFESSIONAL STOPS

FROM WASHINGTON TO GREENVILLE

AND BACK AGAIN

A graduate of The George Washington University in Washington DC, Kim is a former editorial assisant at the Time Magazine Washington bureau.

He then worked for Hodding Carter III at the Pulitzer Prize winning Delta Democrat Times in Greenville, Mississsippi, alongside such future legends as John Henry, future bureau chief of the Houston Chronicle and Miami Herald TV Reporter Glenn Garvin.

Kim then moved to Tampa and then to Tallahassee as Tampa Tribune's State Capital Corresponsdent. From there he went to the Los Angeles Daily Journal until being hired as a staff writer at Steven Brill's American Lawyer Magazine. When American Lawyer bought Legal Times of Washington, Kim returned to DC with the new management team. This led to the publication of his first book, Shark Tank. He subsequently wrote two other non-fiction best sellers, The Last Liberal, and Revenge of the Pequots..

Kim is currently working on novel about Virgina and the upper South in the 1960s, currently titled, Four Cities of Youth, and a memoir of the Mississippi River and the rise of gambling thereon, entitled "Queen of the Nickels."

For the past 14 years Kim has been the National Editor of Washingtonian Magazine.
